Richard Hammond, one of Top Gear's hosts, recently celebrated his 40th birthday and decided it was the perfect moment to buy himself two exclusive supercars. He therefore bought himself a classic Jaguar E-Type built in 1969, the same year the Briton was born. The E-Type is considered by many one of the most attractive cars in the world and ranks as the most recognizable and iconic Jaguar ever built. According to autotrader.co.uk, Hammond paid £50,000 for the E-Type which is a 4.2-litre straight-six engine producing 265 bhp. In terms of performance, the car sprints from naught to sixty in about six seconds.
The second addition to Hammond’s garage was a £175,000 Aston Martin DBS Volante, one of the most beautiful models of 2009. The DBS Volante is propelled by a 5.9-litre V12 engine developing 510bhp and 420lb/ft of torque. The car does sixty in just 4.3 seconds and it is able to reach a top speed of 191 mph (307 km/h). Moreover, his wife, Mindy also bought him a £10,000 Kawasaki bike, so Hammond will considerably increase his fleet of sixteen cars and five bikes.
