manson
https://www.yahoo.com/news/cosmic-explosion-visible-naked-eye-111125546.html Quote A rare cosmic eruption is expected to occur in the Milky Way in the coming months — an outburst so bright that a “new” star will seemingly appear for a short time in the night sky. The event, known as a nova, will be a once-in-a-lifetime skywatching opportunity for those in the Northern Hemisphere, according to NASA, because the types of star systems in which such explosions occur are not common in our galaxy. At its peak, the eruption should be visible to the naked eye, Schaefer said: “It’s going to be bright in the sky, so it’ll be easily visible from your backyard.” “It could maybe even happen tonight,” Schaefer said. “More probably it’ll be within the next couple of months, and very probably before the end of summer.” https://blogs.nasa.gov/Watch_the_Skies/2024/02/27/view-nova-explosion-new-star-in-northern-crown/

Lucky
manson
Jbt ovi mučenicu su još gore. Evo sada i SpaceX ima nekih problema. https://www.yahoo.com/news/nasa-says-no-return-date-154443208.html Quote Already more than a month late getting back, two NASA astronauts will remain at the International Space Station until engineers finish working on problems plaguing their Boeing capsule, officials said Thursday. ... After the space shuttles retired, NASA hired private companies for astronaut rides to the space station, paying Boeing and SpaceX billions of dollars. This was the Boeing's first test flight with a crew aboard. The initial demo in 2019, flying empty, never made it to the space station because of bad software, and Boeing repeated the test in 2022. More issues later cropped up. SpaceX has been ferrying astronauts since 2020. SpaceX's Falcon 9 rockets have been grounded for the past two weeks because of an upper-stage failure on a satellite-delivery mission. The longer the stand-down continues, the more likely upcoming crew flights will be delayed. Neka zovu Putina više.

Zanimljivo je što ona nije uopšte dizajnirana za taj posao; a posebno je interesantno što je kroz nju kanadska svemirska agencija ušla na ISS projekat i praktično finansirala svoj svemirski program. manson
https://www.forbes.com/sites/roberthart/2024/08/12/scientists-discover-oceans-worth-of-liquid-water-on-mars-and-a-potential-home-for-alien-life-but-theres-one-big-catch/ Quote Scientists from the University of California, Berkeley, and UC San Diego, have discovered evidence of large amounts of liquid water lurking deep beneath the surface of Mars, according to peer reviewed research published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Using seismic data from Mars quakes, volcanic rumblings and meteor impacts gathered by NASA’s InSight lander and the same kind of mathematical models of rock physics used to map underground aquifers and oil fields on Earth, the researchers uncovered evidence of a deep water reservoir located in deep beneath the martian surface in tiny cracks and pores in the planet’s crust. The water, which data suggests is located between 11.5 and 20 kilometers below the martian surface—around 7 to 12 miles—is probably inaccessible with existing technology, the researchers said, so is likely to be of little use to a future Mars colony. Despite this, the researchers said the discovery reveals important details about Mars’ history and, if the water can be tapped, is a promising place to look for alien life on the Red Planet. “I don't see why [the underground water] is not a habitable environment,” said one of the study’s authors and a professor of earth and planetary science at Berkeley, Michael Manga, noting that far down environments on Earth like “deep, deep mines” and the “bottom of the ocean” host life as well. “We haven't found any evidence for life on Mars, but at least we have identified a place that should, in principle, be able to sustain life,” Manga said. manson
Ne znam da li smo ranije ovo pomenuli, ja tek skoro saznao 🙂 https://science.nasa.gov/solar-system/asteroids/apophis/ On April 13, 2029, Apophis will pass less than 20,000 miles (32,000 kilometers) from our planet’s surface – closer than the distance of geosynchronous satellites. During that 2029 close approach, Apophis will be visible to observers on the ground in the Eastern Hemisphere without the aid of a telescope or binoculars. It’s also an unprecedented opportunity for astronomers to get a close-up view of a solar system relic that is now just a scientific curiosity and not an immediate hazard to our planet. manson
https://arstechnica.com/space/2024/09/starliners-speaker-began-emitting-strange-sonar-noises-on-saturday/ Quote On Saturday NASA astronaut Butch Wilmore noticed some strange noises emanating from a speaker inside the Starliner spacecraft. "I've got a question about Starliner," Wilmore radioed down to Mission Control, at Johnson Space Center in Houston. "There's a strange noise coming through the speaker ... I don't know what's making it." Wilmore said he was not sure if there was some oddity in the connection between the station and the spacecraft causing the noise, or something else. He asked the flight controllers in Houston to see if they could listen to the audio inside the spacecraft. A few minutes later, Mission Control radioed back that they were linked via "hardline" to listen to audio inside Starliner, which has now been docked to the International Space Station for nearly three months. Wilmore, apparently floating in Starliner, then put his microphone up to the speaker inside Starliner. Shortly thereafter, there was an audible pinging that was quite distinctive. "Alright Butch, that one came through," Mission control radioed up to Wilmore. "It was kind of like a pulsing noise, almost like a sonar ping." "I'll do it one more time, and I'll let y'all scratch your heads and see if you can figure out what's going on," Wilmore replied. The odd, sonar-like audio then repeated itself. "Alright, over to you. Call us if you figure it out."

Zvanični odgovor NASE još više produbljuje teoriju zavere! Sept. 2 Update: NASA issued the following explanation on Monday for the strange noises: "A pulsing sound from a speaker in Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft heard by NASA astronaut Butch Wilmore aboard the International Space Station has stopped. The feedback from the speaker was the result of an audio configuration between the space station and Starliner. The space station audio system is complex, allowing multiple spacecraft and modules to be interconnected, and it is common to experience noise and feedback."
