Predlog koji će se uskoro naći na izglasavanju u Americi predviđa “minimalni nivo buke” koju svako motorno vozilo mora da proizvede. Zakon su načinili predstavnici vlasti koji su zabrinuti da bi “pretiha” hibridna i električna vozila mogla predstavljati pretnju naftnim preduzećima pešacima i slepim osobama. Predlog zakona tako zahteva od američkog Sekreterijata Transporta da načini studiju koja bi odredila koji je minimalni nivo buke neophodan, i da taj zakon sprovede u delo (možda čak već u 2010. god).
