Liam: Totally prepared! Aleksandar: Any chance that we hear some new tracks at these gigs? Liam: Yeah. Aleksandar: You're just about to release "Their Law - The singles" compilation which contains almost every single that you have released in last 15 years. We know wind it up is not exactly your favourite track, but what is your reason for leaving it off from the singles collection? Liam: Because it is the best of The Prodigy in last 15 years. We didn't put Baby's got a temper on there. The reason why not the Wind it up is because, we took five singles from the first album, of the Experience, it's kind of we tried to balance it out so there is equal amount of tracks. Aleksandar: Recently, you had a live show on BBC Radio 1 at the Maida Vale studio, which was brilliant! Liam: Thanks very much. Aleksandar: Is there any chance, that we hear these remixed tracks at the upcomming gigs and maybe with some special guests, like Shanin Badar? Liam: Well... People have to wait and see, we are not sure. We tried to get Shanin for a few times, but she is always busy, you know, but we would see what happens. To be honest, like usually when we play, it's the band, everyone gets focused on the stage. We really enjoyed those Radio 1 sessions, we kind of a put a lot work into it and it comeout good, you know. Aleksandar: New album is supposed to be out somewhere in year 2006, right? Liam: Well, definitely by the end of that year, when we know where we are. I'm not going to say it's definitely gonna be out at the end... Aleksandar: So, it's just your plan.. Liam: Yes, just a plan. I write much quickly these days. Aleksandar: Do you plan any collaborations for the new album? Liam: It will be less collaborations ont this record, because what I plan is that record would be mainly Liam, Keith and Maxim. Aleksandar: So, we can expect to hear Maxim and Keith on it? Liam: Absolutely, yeah. Aleksandar: OK, that's great. Speaking of collaborations, what do you think about making one with Leeroy, or is it just a bad idea? Liam: Leeroy is not a musician, do you know what I mean. I can't... I worked with him in the studio on tracks, but I don't... Aleksandar: Do you think he is more into DJing or something like that? Liam: Yeah, Leeroy is in DJing, I mean that Leeroy is a good friend of mine, but I can't see us collaborating. Aleksandar: What are your new inspirations for the new album? Will you change it's direction, or it will be Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned vol.2? Liam: No, definitely not. We try not to repeat ourselves. Basically, all I can say is it will be more mellodic this record, it means more mellody and lyrical content would be much more inteligent. Aleksandar: Can't wait to hear it. Liam: Thank you... Aleksandar: The Prodigy have really strong online fan community and several large fan web sites. Do you sometimes visit these websites? Liam: Yeah, I think it is important for band to keep in touch with it's fans and what's going on, I think it is important. Well, I'm not a lover of internet, but I think that we can use it to help everybody, we can kind of communicate with people, get to our fans, let them know what is going on, listen to them, you know; It is good, it is definitely a good thing. Aleksandar: Which website are you visiting most? Do you have some favourite one? Liam: I like a good russian one, and there is good english one, the Neko... Aleksandar: The Nekosite? Liam: Yeah, the Nekosite and Brainkiller and a russian one... It's all over in every country I think, it's a lot of... we got a real big fan base. Aleksandar: It will be a pretty mad in London in the beginning of December! I think on four Prodigy gigs at the Brixton Academy. By doing this are you setting a new record for day by day gigs at this venue? Liam: No, but basically the record is five, maybe six. If we do six, we will brake the record. Massive Attack did six. Aleksandar: Before Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned album, you locked up your old home studio, went out, and began to write new stuff on your laptop. Are you planning to continue with this kind of production, or you're getting back in the home studio? Liam: I think both, you know, because I locked back the studio and get out of house, now laptop helps me get back into the studio, but laptop is very important part of the studio, because you can write anywhere on the road, if I wanna I take my computer with me all the way to gigs. Take Serbia for example, I may write in hotel room, while we are on tour I write the music so we play it down on the road, on the gigs and stuff so. Aleksandar: So, basically you find your inspiration while you are on the road. Liam: Wherever. Then I take it back to the studio, then mix it and get it sounding good. New technology is helped young musicians to be more spontanious. Aleksandar: We all know that AONO wasn't that successfull in USA like in the Europe, because of the "lazy" Maverick's album promotion. Do you plan to change record company for the US market? Liam: We dumped Maverick. Aleksandar: You dumped them? Liam: Yeah, I hate them. I've got nothing to say then we are on Beggars Banquet in America now and "The Singles" album will be comming out on Beggars Banquet. Maverick record had an easy ride with us, by canceling an hit record that was already no.1 in England! MTV was the biggest thing that helped us in America, not Maverick. Aleksandar: Yes, because I see that fans are pretty moaning about not seeing you in USA. Liam: Yeah, it is shame, because we got a lot of fans there. We did really good gigs there in the beggining of the year, Coachella, Palm Springs, a big festival. A thing with America is, that there is no festivals in America. There is only Coachella which seems really strange. And also we are playing "Winter Music Conference", it's in March, that's gonna be our next gig in America. We love America. I didn't use to like it, but I like it now. It is shame we can't get there, you know. Aleksandar: And for the end, when you are at home, do you find time to listen your old tunes, from the previous albums and which album would you pick as your favourite one? Liam: The thing is we done The Singles album, we listen to all the old music, I mean I like tracks from every album, but I like Jilted Generation, but it is a hard question because I really like Spitfire. Spitfire is a good tune, the kind of a good live track, like Poison, there is favourites from every record. There is also moments on every record that I don't like. There are certain tracks that I've got bored very quickly, but that is hard to say, but say Music For The Jilted Generation is probably record that I really like, because it was when we really changed into something... because the first album I am proud of, but I think from that album to the second album, we really got a direction together, so I was really proud with that moment, you know. Aleksandar: Yeah, you pretty evolved with this album, you've got totally new direction... Liam: Yeah, and that direction is real and original, you know. Aleksandar: Thousands of fans are waiting for you in the Belgrade to perform next month. Do you have any message for them? Liam: Yeah, just thank you for comming to the show before and this one would be better. We just expect our fans and we expecting to be rocking, you know. eto....... Mistake Mistake je me pozitivno iznenadio s obzirom da ga pre nisam slushao, za razliq od Overdrive-a koji je po mom mishljenju bio sranje jer ne slusham tu vrstu muzike... Za Prodigy, no comment.... Lucky Posted October 8, 2005 Report Share Posted October 8, 2005 Hm ... nisam onda siguran da li smem da bacam moje komentare, plasim se da ce da ispadne da nismo bili na istom koncertu :) Ono, na stranu ti hitovi koji su bili, i sve je to kul, ali su oni svirali tipa malo preko sat vremena. Gomila ljudi me posle pitala kao "e koliko je sati" i kada sam im rekao 12:15h bili su na fazon "ne seri samo sat vremena?". Ono sto mi se jos nije dopalo jeste sto je ozvucenje skroz loshe bilo, ajde vrutjina, sta covek da radi, tako je kako je. Pozdrav inace svim poznatim forumashima na koje sam tamo naleteo ... Stator Posted October 8, 2005 Report Share Posted October 8, 2005 Ja sam sa ortakom bio u prvim redovima akda je ovaj izvadio fotku i onaj lik iz obezbedjenja je skocio u masu i oteo mu aparat tako da smo ceo cer prodigy-a jurili po muriji i obezbedjenju da vratimo (nimalo jeftin) fota aparat... tako da od koncerta nisam video nista :( btw na kraju smo vratili aprat ali nam je neko u masi otvorio ranac u kome su na bile stvari i ukrao drugom ortaku duks... srbijo najlepsa majko srbijo oce i ma u ku**c..... Longleyy Posted October 8, 2005 Report Share Posted October 8, 2005 Dok sam snimao sa telefonom izbili su mi ga iz ruke i izgubio sam ga i 5 min posle vidim neciji drugi telefon kod mojih nogu. Tako da sam nadoknadio gubitak :D. Inache ja sam bio u prvim redovima i bilo je PREVRUCE , ishutan sam bio , prljav , znojav... Majca mi je bukvalno bila ko da si je stavio u vodu i izvadio...Ozvucenje standard za nase koncerte , nepamtim neku vecu svirku (sem xita) da je bilo dobro ozvucenje...I tako ono nije bilo loshe :D @Lucky: Jel ti nosis naocare i jesi mozda 10-15 min pre pocetka prodigy-ja sa nekom ribom cekao da pishas??? E da, ako sam josh imao tarzanku i VERSACE majicu onda to sigurno nisam bio ja :) Mada jesam chekao sa nekom ribom da shoram (u isto vreme, da, da vas preduhitrim) ali gore u press delu, i to po pocetku koncerta, a i ne nosim naocare inace :) Mora da je taj sto si mislio da sam ja bio neki mnogo veliki car pa ti nekako bilo logicno 8-} Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
