anuary 07, 2005 - According to The Hollywood Reporter, David Morrissey (Captain Corelli's Mandolin) has been cast as the male lead opposite Sharon Stone in the long-in- development Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction.
The 40-year-old Brit reportedly plays "Dr. Andrew Glass, a psychiatrist who becomes entangled in her cat and mouse game." The plot "takes Tramell from San Francisco to London, where she again finds herself in trouble with the law. Glass, a criminal psychiatrist, is appointed by Scotland Yard to evaluate her."
Previous contenders for the role included Kurt Russell, Benjamin Bratt and Bruce Greenwood.
Morrissey's credits include the forthcoming Derailed, as well as Hilary and Jackie and The Wild and Wycked World of Brian Jones.
Basic Instinct 2 starts filming in London this March, with Michael Caton-Jones directing from a script by Leora Barish and Henry Bean.
