Za Bono-a se zna da je bio na strani Muslimana u ratu u SFRJ, da podrzava i Shiptare jer se kao Shiptari nalaze u situaciji ko Severna Irska. Ima sa druge strane i ljudi koji vole Srbiju i nije ih malo. To se pogovotovo videlo `99 za vreme bombardovanja. Npr. Robert De Niro (tjera mu se zove Drina, svojevremeno kad je dolazio na FEST, zena mu je bila trudna i dali su joj da prochita "Na Drini tjuprija", pa joj se svidelo ime), Peter Gabriel, dosta manekenki, chak su bile i neke peticije.
