Its CeBIT time, meaning lots of things happen. In this case, it’s great news for the CS enthusiast. World Cyber Games today announce a new league, a bit special from what we have seen before.
The new World Cyber Games international gaming competition will be known as Esport League of Champions (ELC). The league will feature a different structure than seen before. All matches will be played in LAN, and not online as seen with other leagues (e.g. Extreme Masters and NGL One). The league has same structure as Champions League (soccer). Each team will get a start bouns, bonus for points and won games. Meaning all teams are guaranteed prize money. The league has gathered amazingly 150.000€ to spread out.
Fist season of ELC will be invite teams. However in the future, each country will have a local qualification. The matches from ELC will as mentioned be played on LAN. All teams and players will be flown to a studio in Stockholm, where the production of the league will take place. The studio is special designed up ELC and ELC describes it as a hi-tech studio.
